My inspiration comes from the healing aspects of art. Creating art is one of the few activities (along with being in nature) that allows me to appreciate the present. I enjoy spending time with my two boys outdoors and in nature. We are avid visitors to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois.
I have always had a passion for art. I took my first "art" class in high school--photography. I enjoyed taking art--both 2D & 3D--and art history classes in undergrad. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts (Metals) at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign over a couple of decades ago.
I love using a variety of mediums in my work especially prismacolors, sharpie and my own photography for collage. I enjoy these mediums because of the opportunity to incorporate a lot of color and texture in my work.
